The shelter’s 100 vacancies have since been filled with mass transfers from Guilford County Animal Shelter and other surrounding shelters, which tend to have higher kill rates due to overpopulation in the counties. The Forsyth shelter, at 4881 Country Club Road in Winston-Salem, is a no-kill shelter.
