Triumph's debut was in a comedy about unusually talented dogs at the (WKC). In addition to other dog puppets who played and performed , Triumph appeared in his trademark persona of an obnoxious and ribald in the vein of . The character rapidly grew in popularity, and became a recurring fixture on the show, often mocking the show's guests and leaving the studio to sexually harass members of the general public in pre-taped remote segments. On subsequent visits to the WKC, he would often be found "humping" (attempting to with), and occasionally being "humped" by other dogs.

When I first opened the box from Paw Pets, I thought, “What? These are for dogs?” Being fairly new to the “dog world” I had no idea as to how the panel would react to these ultra-soft, plush puppets.
